Christmas is gone and passed.
Well I had a fabulous Christmas with my family, but I'd have to say that the best part was getting to talk to my brother, Drew. Drew is serving a mission in Sao Palo, Brazil and my family and I only get to talk to him two times a year so it was really nice to hear how he was doing. I think the neatest part, though was how much he had changed in just 11 months! He sounds more confident and strong in the Gospel. I love my brother so much and I am so excited for him and how happy he is. I am grateful for the example that he is to me and I can't wait to see him in 13 months!

Christmas time
Christmas seems to be coming way sooner this year and I don't know if I (or my whole family for that matter) am ready! I've bought one Christmas present and I have no idea for the rest and I don't even have a Christmas tree yet! Worst of all, though, it doesn't feel like Christmas. The excitement and magic that are usually here seem to be absent and I can't explain why...
As I am write this I begin to think of what Christmas means. Maybe I'm not feeling the Spirit of Christmas because I'm looking in the wrong places. Although the decorations and presents are fun, they aren't lasting. Christmases pass and are forgotten, but the true meaning of Christmas is exactly that; the celebration of Christ. Without His birth in a lowly stable, I would never know the joy that comes from repenting or the peace that comes when a family member dies. Christ has saved each person through His loving Atonement, but it all started with a tiny babe lying in a manger.

My beginning.
So I'm starting this blog and I REEEEEEAAAAALLLLLY hope it works out and I'll keep it updated like an online journal or something...
Anyways...
Today!
Today I had the chance to help my mom at work (she aids in a Special Ed classroom) and I absolutely love it! The kids were so sweet and funny! I was really reminded why I wanted to teach and I am so excited to finish college (I know, I know, I've only finished one semester, but I can't help it!) and begin teaching.
